Interview with Johnny McMoy, Aviation Campus, Middle Georgia College

Did you know that right here in Middle Georgia you can not only learn how to fly, but you can learn how to be a commercial jet pilot or an air traffic controller, manage an airport, be an airplane mechanic and do just about anything else related to aviation and airplanes? Impressed? Well, you should be, because if you complete the course, you might be in line for a good job. Interested?

Well, check out the Aviation Campus of Middle Georgia College. In this interview Johnny McMoy, Director, Laura Williams, Coordintor of Student Services, and several instructors explain the programs and opportunities afforded.

This is one of the few public technical schools specializing in aviation. In fact, before becoming associated with Middle Georgia College, the Aviation Campus was a separate technical college. However, its merger with MGC allows it to offer an AA degree as well as aviation certificates.

The best thing about a degree in aviation is the simple fact that once you’ve completed the course you stand a great chance of getting a job–in Georgia even–making $18 an hour or more. Job placement is about 90%! That is pretty good and this school is a great Georgia asset!
