What Is Goin’ On?

Sunday afternoon I happened to come across a post by Jason Pye in Peach Pundit that said: “Here is a nicely put together blog that goes after John Barrow.” I checked it out and found an attack website aimed at John Barrow. There was nothing “nice” about it. The comments to the post indicated that most people saw this for what it was, total crap.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that I have supported John Barrow in the past and expect to continue to do so in the future. However, no one is perfect, but this new website (I refuse to give you the link to such trash.) accused him of lies and worse. Lies always peek my interest and if I found out that John Barrow was lying about something, I would expose it just as certainly as I would anyone else’s lie.

Being a believer is fairness, I shot off an email through the website that said I hosted a radio show and would like to interview someone from the site. Here is the response I received:

We’d like to apologize. We’re doing this to create conversation and to bring forward the facts. We’d be more than willing to provide you with an information and/or statements.

We don’t have any intentions of going on any show. A few of us have listened to it from time to time though.

I was a little surprised that they wanted to create conversation and bring forth the facts and insisted on remaining anonymous. Something about that just does not fit. Anyway, being the kind radio host I am, I inquired again why they would not give an interview.

I received this reply:

We are remaining anonymous because the issue cannot become purely political.

Barrow has mislead us and runs smear campaigns. We will not become a subject of his attacks on a personal level. There are no code names or methods of elaborately hiding our identities, simply we have not identified ourselves.

We released the following statement to a blogger earlier:

We seek to encourage and spark debate. There is a Representative who has been misleading the people of Georgia’s 12th district. The man runs a campaign built on lies and deceit, cannot manage his personal life, and partners with Liberal Speaker Pelosi 79% of the time. The focus will continue to remain on Mr. Barrow.

We’ve already had enough of this Congress and its games.

Identifying ourselves serves no purpose in which we seek, therefore it will not happen on a conscience effort [not yet anyway]. We would like to applaud our great state for its blogging community. The people represented on our friend’s list know not of our identity.

Only with your help will our content improve. According the the FEC statue we plan to remain anonymous, as we will not spend or receive more than the law allots. This grants true freedom of speech. Our patriotism lies in the hands that manufactured the First Amendment and our brave men and women serving this country.

We do hope you’ll help us and take the seat from Barrow. Let’s give it to one deserving - one of the people of this district. The people are meant to represent, not those who presume their own greatness.

No, that did not help. I did wonder who the blogger was. I sent them this message and have not heard from them since this morning.

Do you believe that being anonymous gives you any credibility? If you aren’t willing to speak the truth in public then you are just a hack, whoever you are. If Barrow has lied or misled anyone, then the facts need to be debated and argued etc. However, the fact that someone writes something and puts it on the internet means nothing if they are secretive.

One more chance to reconsider and give an interview or at least identify yourself.

I am still waiting for an interview, but of course, we all know why the people and organization behind this site is not going to give anyone (maybe Bill O’Reilly) an honest interview. Whoever they are, they are the worst about America, the are the worst in the blogosphere, they are just the worst, period. Gutless, weasels! They are in the same group as child molesters. Worthless.

I am sure I will never hear from them, but I still hope to reach out and touch them.
