Interview with Saryn Hooks

Saryn Hooks placed 3rd in the 2006 Scripp’s National Spelling Bee held May 31st and June 1st. Saryn is 14, an eighth grader and can spell approximately 480,000 words. Quite an accomplishment!! What is absolutely amazing is the fact that we contacted Saryn for an interview without any idea that her grandparents live right here in South Georgia, Cobbtown to be exact. Small, small world!

Interview with HERO for Children: Co-Founders Ryan Gembala and Garrett Grevensen

HERO for Children: Co-Founders Ryan Gembala and Garrett Grevensen organized Hearts Everywhere Reaching Out for Children (HERO) tell us why and how they created this non-profit organization which is the only organization in Georgia created to help children who have been touched by HIV/AIDS. They may have HIV/AIDS or they may have lost parents to the disease. Ryan and Garrett are inspired alumni of the University of Georgia. Celebrities like Vince Dooley and Mark Richt support the organization as members of its Board of Directors. Others like Hank Aaron and Paula Deen support it as well.

Craig Stuckless is originally from Canada but he married a local girl and is now a naturalized citizen of the United States. Craig tells us what a person has to go through to immigrate legally to the U. S. It is a very long, complicated and expense process, full of bureaucratic red tape.
